Pigeon House Mountain Hike
Travel north along the Princes Highway from Bateman’s Bay for 14 kilometres. Turn right onto Mt Agony Road where the highway is sign posted Depot Beach and North Durras.
Durras Mountain Hike
A walk with a moderately steep climb. Access to the coastal walk and the mountain is gained by walking through the Pebbly Beach Camping Grounds There are some short steep climbs at the start but the 360° panoramic views make the effort worthwhile. From the trig station on top, views to Pigeon House and the tablelands and north and south along the coastline make for excellent photography. On a clear day Montague Island can be seen in the south.
Depot Beach Seashore Walk
A must for every visitor to Lakesea Park. This walk is recommended for the entire family. It is packed with points of interest throughout. Many of us walk along beaches and around rocks, yet whilst taking in the overall beauty of the sea and the shoreline, we often miss many of the interesting and fascinating things along the way.
When the Lake is open, it is recommended that you drive to North Durras to commence your walk on the northern side of the Lake’s entrance. Check on the open/closed status of Durras Lake
Durras Lake Walk
The Durras Lake walk is a wide mostly flat track which follows the northern shore of Durres Lake. Walk a small section, OR walk the lot! The spotted gum and burrawang palms are obvious in this area and are the dominant vegetation of this part of the South Coast. The tranquility in this forest and the varied waterbirds of Durras Lake are features of this walk. For a bit more of an adventure you can paddle a canoe around to the start of the walk from Lakesea Park and walk sections to stretch your legs and give your arms a rest in between paddling.
Durras Discovery Trail Walk
A circular walking track. Situated on the northern side of Durras Lake just minutes from North Durras, the discovery trail can be incorporated into a canoe adventure from Lakesea Park, or can be reached by car on the North Durras side of the lake. Turn off the North Durras Road three kilometres before the village onto the dirt track marked: ‘Discovery Trail’. This scenic walk takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. It is well signposted with interpretative signage throughout on the areas history, and passes through a number of different forest types and plant communities.
The walk takes you down a bush staircase to a quite easy walk through the forest and along a boardwalk. This delightful walk encompasses majestic spotted gum, several eucalypt species and dense rainforest. The trail encourages visitors to enjoy the tranquil surrounds of the forest while highlighting the important values of the forest of the past, present and future.
Walks North of Pebbly Beach
Start from carpark at Pebbly Beach. Enjoy coastal views, beaches and rock platforms. If you have children you may wish to walk to Clear Point and Return, shortening the walk to about 1.5 hours. Clear Point is a large grassy area with lovely views of the coastline. Kangaroos are often found in this area.

Coastline Image Tour Walk
Walk the spectacular Nature Coast with this nature based adventure following the beautiful Durras coastline within Murramarang National Park to the south of Lakesea park. Featuring some of the most unspoilt, coastline and beaches on the South Coast, the Coastline Walk can also be applied to kayaking, cycling/mountain-biking, diving, snorkelling, and swimming.
